What is the best time to have 3D 4D Ultrasound Sonogram?
Though you are welcome to our services from 12-38 weeks, we recommend having your 3D Ultrasound done between 24-28 weeks for most moms. During this stage of pregnancy your baby's facial features are developed and your amniotic fluid is highest, providing an ideal time for clear images of your baby.
When can I find out my baby's gender?
The best time to find out your baby's gender is 16 weeks (4 months). In some cases we are able to determine your baby's gender as early as 12 weeks, however studies show the accuracy gender indentification is about 85% prior 16 weeks.
What affects the quality of 3D Ultrasound Images?
Fetal positioning and activity- It may be difficult to obtain images of the face if the baby is very active, or the face is covered by the placenta, uterine wall or your baby's hands or feet. Maternal Body Features - Sometimes ultrasound waves are unable to penetrate through the abdominal tissue which causes poor image quality. Attributes such as c-section and tummy-tuck scars may also cause shadowing. We recommend for heavyset mothers to have a 3D 4D Ultrasound between 26-30 weeks. Water Intake- Hydration is important for your pregnancy and drinking plenty of water may increase your amniotic fluid level. Low levels of amniotic fluid may result in blurry images.
What is the preparation process before the Ultrasound Scan?
We ask you to drink at least two cups of water 30 minutes prior to your ultrasound session. Your bladder should be slightly filled. Please bring your choice of a juice or a sweet beverage to drink during the session and stay away from all sweet foods and drinks for one hour prior to coming in. Furthermore you could improve the quality of the images by having plenty of water throughout your pregnancy, which in turn may elevate your level of amniotic fluid.
How many guests can I bring?
You are welcome to bring up to 6 guests to share this wonderful experience with. You may bring your children, but we ask you to have another adult come along to care for them, so that you and your guests may enjoy uninterrupted viewing during your Ultrasound session. Our 3D Ultrasound experience is a great way to introduce your family to it's newest member, and can be a great family event.
